This week has been one that required lots of deep writing, coming clean energetically, and letting thoughts spill out into the cosmos vs. swirling around in my head. I found myself one morning after meditation sitting with the blank pages of my journal feeling a need and desire to look at my energetic blocks and habitual human hang ups from a new perspective. There are a few areas in my life that I have felt weighed down, stuck, and uninspired without knowing how to move forward. So the only way I could see around this was to look at it from an entirely new perspective than the one of logic and reasoning that I had been attempting for months now.
So with pen in hand I began to write a letter to my Divine Council from the perspective of my Soul. So, like, what does that even mean?
I know that this body and life of 'Janae' is just a vehicle for the larger work of my higher Self- I am a spiritual being having a human experience. Coming from a space of creative writing I put myself in the voice of my soul writing a letter to my Divine Council- these are my guides, beloved Goddesses, Archangels, and even to Divine Mother. This letter was in the tone of a progress report- as if my Higher Self was doing a life review in how far 'Janae' has come, where she needs growth and awareness, and what she might need from the Council to realize this potential that is hers.
I haven't done creative writing this deep for a long time and let me just say ... incredibly therapeutic. For a few reasons
- I felt held- it truly deepened my connection to my Council to write them in such a way. It felt meditative and honest.
- It re-inspired me, this reminder that I AM a spiritual being underneath it all with unending resources.
- I saw beyond- we often get tunnel vision in our lives and forget that there are countless possibilities for ourselves beyond what our brains can think up.
To prepare for a writing like this I recommend mediating before hand. Create a quiet place and come into stillness. Begin to quiet the chatter of the mind and create space for your Higher Self to come through so you can hear her. Welcome your guides and your Divine Council, thanking them for their guidance and invite their wisdom to come through. Then placing yourself in the voice of your Higher Self begin writing without thinking twice- we don't want the ego to take over. My own letter became a life review, a current state of affairs, and an action plan, but your letter may take any shape, form, and tone as your soul sees necessary.
When you have completed writing, re-read your letter and jot any notes down of what stood out to you. When we do this more automatic writing we often don't realize the exact words and meaning that hit the paper and so reviewing afterwards can be full of surprised! Reflect on what is revealed to you and revisit this letter as often as you need to.
